So you're registered and ready to attend a class, your next question is certain to be: "What gear do I need to bring to get the most out of my training experience?"
While gear manufacturer, style, personal preference, etc., will greatly influence your decisions, we've put together some basic guidelines on what you'll need to get the most out of your class. When possible, we recommend that you train with the gear you fight with. If you are new to CCW, competition, or tactical gear, feel free to send us a message about your specific needs and we'll do our best to help.
Keep in mind that all of our classes involve training outside, and we shoot rain or shine unless conditions become dangerous. That being said, priority number one is that you dress for the weather. Wear clothing that is comfortable and allows as full a range of motion as possible.
Basic equipment for all classes:
To maximize our training time, please bring a bag lunch
Knee and elbow pads are highly recommended
Cleaning Kit (Rags, Oil, Bore Brush and Cleaning Rod) for your firearms
Bottled Water (and/or electrolyte replacement/Gatorade)
Pen/Pencil and Paper
Factory Ammunition (no reloads)
Insect Repellent and Sunscreen
Ear Protection (Electronic)
Eye Protection (Wraparound)
Folding Chair
Our firearms training classes require a specific amount of pistol, rifle, and shotgun ammo and some classes require specific quantities of dummy rounds (snap caps). Please see each Class Description for the latest ammo requirements.
Please plan on using new factory ammunition for our classes. The money saved by using remanufactured ammunition can be lost very quickly if training time is lost while dealing with ammunition-related weapon malfunctions.
